Video: Mum whose two sons are currently in Ekiti prison for robbery and kidnapping, arrested for aiding her 3rd son who is also a robber.
The Ekiti state police command has paraded a middle-aged woman, Bola Obamoyegun, whose two sons are currently serving terms in prison, for allegedly aiding and abetting her third son, 27 year old Dele, who is a member of a six-man armed robbery gang.
Parading the mother and son alongside other criminals at the command's office, the Commissioner of Police, Amba Asuquo, said Dele was arrested alongside five other suspects for alleged armed robbery, murder and cultism while his mother was nabbed for “conspiracy, armed robbery and receiving stolen property.”
''It was revealed from an investigation that some of the properties stolen by the suspects are Dele’s share from the proceeds of armed robbery operating carried out by his gang.” Asuquo said
The Ekiti CP said what was most disturbing was that Dele’s mother, Bola was the one accepting keeping all the stoen items from her son and his gang members.
“She was the one accepting and concealing stolen items for the robbery gang being led by her son. Dele’s mother was the one concealing stolen items for them. As we speak, two of her children had been convicted for robbery and this to us was a failure of motherhood. Our parents must learn how to make their children responsible.” he said
The police chief added that the six-man robbery gang to which Dele belonged, also allegedly admitted to killing a member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Michael Adedeji.
He gave the names of the other all-male gang members as Idowu Sunday aka Longer, 25; Adeniyi Wumi, aka Wumi Woro, 23; Leye Ojo, aka Danku, 26; Akindahunsi Damilola, aka Akure, 22; and Olaosebikan Babatunde, 48.
Forty-year-old Hon Adedeji, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker that represented Ekiti South West Constituency II, was shot in the head on August 10, 2018, at GRA, Ado Ekiti capital city and died a few days later.
When interrogated, Dele said
“We shot Adedeji after robbing him. He did not struggle with us but one of us just shot him. I have to confess, we didn’t know he was a lawmaker.”
